Yellow Garden Stripe Hook Earrings — Hand Painted Wood — One of a Kind
A color like this yellow does not apologize for itself. It simply arrives, sets its things down, and makes every other color in the room work a little harder. That is what these earrings do.
Each long, rounded panel is painted in a warm citron yellow scattered with black and white dashes that read as both stripe and spot depending on where you stand. From the yellow ground, Audra has grown a stem of teal blooms, each flower painted with the cheerful looseness of something that was fun to make. Pink petals appear among the teal, unexpected and exactly right. The varnish sits over all of it like glass, making the color almost edible.
They hang two and a half inches from the nickel-free gold-plated hook. Long enough to move. Narrow enough to be architectural. The backs are finished in metallic gold. The sort of earring you reach for on days when you have decided to be someone who wears earrings like this.
One of a Kind Statement
Audra painted this pair, by hand, in her North Carolina studio.
