The Generous Table - Original Acrylic Painting 20x24 | Audra Style
I've always loved the Dutch masters for their audacity. All that food, all those flowers, arranged with the confidence of someone who knew exactly what they were doing. I wanted that same abundance but without the shadows and the symbolism about death. Just the good part. The roses. The wine. The papaya split open next to a plate of olives and a wedge of cheese that nobody's cut into yet.
This one got away from me a little, which is usually when the best paintings happen. The bouquet kept growing. The fruit kept multiplying. By the time I finished, I had pomegranates and grapes and pears and a lemon rolling off toward the edge like it had somewhere to be.
The background is dark navy, which I painted the edges to match, so it hangs finished without a frame, but would look beautiful in a wide, ornate gilded frame if you so dare. I would love to see a picture of this one installed in the room where it ends up. Will it be yours?
