Red Folk Flower Stud Earrings — Hand Painted Wood — One of a Kind
Each small square is painted in the tradition of American folk decorative art... a warm blush ground, a bold red flower rendered with an almost naive directness, painted leaves in olive green spreading from a dark stem, and the whole scene ringed by black dash marks like a decorative border on a piece of antique pottery. Gold flecks appear near the bloom's center. The varnish is glass-like. The back is metallic gold.
They are three quarters of an inch across. They carry the weight of a much longer tradition. The sort of stud earring that someone picks up assuming it will be a subtle choice and then realizes, once it is on, that subtlety was never really the point.
