Red Flower Garden Hook Earrings — Hand Painted Wood — One of a Kind
There is a tradition of painting flowers on every available surface that goes back further than anyone has thought to document. These earrings are part of that tradition and entirely unaware of it, which is exactly the right disposition.
Each panel is a narrow oval arc, blush at the center fading gently toward the edges, with a folk-style red flower growing from a bold black stem. The leaves are painted in warm olive green, rounded and full. Ringing the border are black dashes, evenly spaced, that give the whole composition the feeling of a decorative plate from someone's grandmother's good cabinet. Gold accents flicker near the bloom. The back is finished in metallic gold.
At two inches long, they move. They are the kind of earrings that get complimented before the person complimenting them has figured out quite why. The answer, if pressed, is that they look like something that has always existed and is also impossible to find.
