Midnight Bloom Stud Earrings — Hand Painted Wood — One of a Kind
Some things small in size refuse to be small in presence. These studs are exactly that... a periwinkle square no bigger than a thumbnail, painted with the full ambition of a botanical illustration rendered by someone who grew up deciding that more is always more.
The ground is a rich periwinkle blue, the kind that shifts between violet and cobalt depending on the light. Against it, Audra painted an explosion of petals in hot pink, deep rose, brick red, and blush, with gold accent marks scattered across the surface like pollen catching the afternoon. The leaves are rendered in bold indigo strokes. It has the quality of folk art textile and the energy of something that has been lovingly overdone.
The backs carry a metallic gold wash. The varnish seals everything under glass. At three quarters of an inch across, they are a small luxury that shows up at exactly the right moment.
One of a Kind Statement
Audra painted this pair, by hand, in her North Carolina studio.
