Black and Gold Labyrinth Stud Earrings — Hand Painted Wood — One of a Kind
There is a kind of pattern that looks simple until you follow one line and realize you have been at it for longer than you expected. These studs have that quality. Black ground, pale gold lines, and a geometric maze that rewards the second look.
Audra painted each small square by hand, laying pale gold lines across a field of deep, true black. The pattern is angular and labyrinthine... lines that branch, turn back, and run parallel in a way that suggests both ancient textile and modern abstraction without committing to either. Under the glass-like varnish, the gold catches light differently depending on the angle, shifting from matte to luminous as you move. The backs are finished in metallic gold, a quiet echo of what is happening on the front.
They are three quarters of an inch across and they are, in the best possible way, a little bit serious. The kind of stud that anchors an outfit rather than decorating it.
